Indonesian Minister of Economic Coordination Airlangga Hartarto visited the CNGR comprehensive industrial facility located in the Qinzhou region of southern China. Qinzhou is about 90 kilometers away from Nanning City in southern China. Ailangjia's arrival was personally received by Deng Weiming, Chairman of CNGR.

Airlangga directly inspected the resistance of OESBF technology facilities to mineral reserves, which can cover nickel with wider grades. Then there is the nickel electrolysis facility using centrifugal extraction technology. In addition, we have also seen Tesla, Samsung LG, SK, Panasonic and many other leading industries use lithium battery raw material precursor production technology.

During this visit, Airlangga also encouraged CNGR to assist in the development of new energy research and development materials, as the company collaborates with universities. The partner for this collaboration is the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Gajah Mada (FT UGM).

Through this cooperation, preparations will be made to establish a metal energy research and development center or an energy materials research and development center. UGM will play a role in the development of UGM's Engineering Research Innovation Center, which currently focuses on research on recycling, rare earth elements, and material deposits in Indonesia.

Airlangga hopes that CNGR's support will focus more on new energy materials. On the other hand, Deng expressed interest in collaborating with universities in Indonesia. He stated in a written statement on Monday, May 27, 2024, that "CNGR is committed to collaborating with top universities in Indonesia to develop diversified technologies for Indonesia's new energy materials industry".

It is reported that Zhongwei Group is one of the large nickel processing enterprise groups in China, leading the development and innovation in the field of materials and energy, and is known as a global leader in new energy materials. Zhongwei Group implements the four modernizations strategy of technological diversification, global development, digital operation, and industrial ecology.

At present, CNGR is developing a comprehensive regional facility in North Konawe, called the Konasara Green Technology Industrial (KITHK) Zone, covering an area of over 5000 hectares. Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024 and is expected to accommodate up to 28000 local workers.

To maintain the sustainability of natural resources and the resilience of Indonesia's mineral reserves, CNGR has innovatively processed nickel ore using OESBF (oxygen enriched side blowing furnace) technology, which is the world's first to achieve a wider range of nickel ore grades, energy efficiency that minimizes carbon emissions, and environmentally friendly waste that can be used by other industries.

In addition, CNGR has successfully produced nickel electrolyte (cathode) with a purity of 99.99% in cooperation with Indonesia's downstream mineral policy. As of May 23, 2024, CNGR has also included Indonesian nickel in the LME (London Metal Exchange) metal supply chain.
